Carol Barnum For two decades, Carol has been helping clients understand their users’ experience. Until June 2013, Carol was Director of the Usability Center at Southern Polytechnic State University and Director of Graduate Programs in Information Design and Communication. Carol continues her passion for all things user experience through her partnership with Jimmy Ginn in UX Firm, LLC. An award-winning author and speaker, Carol has published six books, including her latest, Usability Testing Essentials: Ready, Set … Test! Carol’s awards and recognition include STC Fellow, Rainey Award for Excellence in Research, Gould Award for Excellence in Teaching Technical Communication, and most recently, IEEE Professional Communication Society named her the 2013 recipient of the Ronald S. Blicq award for Distinction in Technical Communication Education.
